The Ultrahuman Ring PRO brings category-leading battery life to the smart ring market, enabling uninterrupted insights and health tracking.
It lasts up to 15 days on a charge in Chill Mode, and about 12 days in Turbo Mode with every sensor running. With the PRO Charger case, you get up to 45 days before you need a wall socket.
That matters because a ring only knows what it measures while it is on your finger. When people have to charge, they miss vital data.
Sometimes the Ring can run out of battery when it’s on their finger, and the light and comfortable form factor, with no distracting screen, it means sometimes they might not realize.
What’s more, when people put their Ring on the charger, sometimes they forget to put it back on. This creates gaps in data and in people’s experience.
In this guide, we explain what those figures look like in real use, what uses the most battery, and how to charge so the battery lasts for years.
Highlights
- Ultrahuman Ring PRO lasts up to 15 days in Chill Mode and about 12 days in Turbo Mode.
- In Engadget’s testing, Ring PRO ran 10 days in a row in Turbo Mode and still had 9% left.
- The PRO Charger case extends that to up to 45 days away from a plug.
Rated against measured battery life
| Figure | Source | |
|---|---|---|
| Rated, Chill Mode | Up to 15 days | Ultrahuman |
| Rated, Turbo Mode | About 12 days | Ultrahuman |
| Rated, with PRO Charger | Up to 45 days | Ultrahuman |
| Measured, Turbo Mode | 10 days, with 9% remaining | Engadget |
| Measured | “Almost two weeks” | Tech Advisor |
Engadget’s reviewer ran the ring in Turbo Mode, which is the hardest setting on the battery, so 10 days with charge to spare sits close to the 12-day rating. Your own figure will depend on which mode you use and how much you exercise.
For comparison, the Ring AIR is rated at 4 to 6 days.
What uses the most battery
Turbo Mode: It runs every sensor at full intensity all day. Chill Mode focuses tracking on sleep and rest, and you still get your sleep, recovery and movement insights. You also get 24/7 stress tracking.
Background Sync. With it on, the ring sends data to your phone continuously. With it off, which is the default, data syncs when you open the app. Unless you need live data on your phone, leave it off.
Exercise: Workouts raise how often the sensors take readings, so a week with daily training will drain the battery faster than a week at a desk.
When the battery drops below 5%, the ring switches to Critical Battery Mode and counts steps only, so you keep some data until you can charge.
How to charge Ring PRO to protect the battery
- Charge at about 30%: Letting the battery run completely flat wears it faster.
- Take it off once it is full: Leaving any lithium-ion battery at 100% for long periods ages it.
- Top up in short bursts if that suits you: Shorter charges are fine, and they keep the battery between 30% and 100%.
- Use the PRO Charger: It charges the ring through UltraSnap contacts that produce less heat than wireless charging. Heat is one of the main causes of battery wear.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the Ultrahuman Ring PRO take to charge?
In Tech Advisor’s test, 0 to 100% took under an hour.
How long does the PRO Charger case last?
Up to 45 days of total battery life, including the ring’s own charge. The case itself charges wirelessly on any Qi pad and stores up to a year of ring data.
Does Ring PRO need a subscription?
No. Every core metric is included with the ring. Optional features such as AFib detection are sold separately as PowerPlugs.
What happens to my data if the battery runs out?
Nothing is lost. The ring stores up to 250 days of data and syncs it next time it connects. You will have a gap only for the hours the ring was flat.
Is Ring PRO battery life longer than Ring AIR?
Yes. Ring AIR is rated at 4 to 6 days. Ring PRO is rated at up to 15.
