For many people, long battery life is a key requirement when choosing a smart ring or wearable. Charging creates friction, and busy people can forget to charge, which can mean missing a night’s data.
In this guide, we outline the key smart rings, compare manufacturer-verified battery specs, and highlight independent, verified battery tests that tell these rings apart.
Highlights
- According to manufacturer specs, Ultrahuman Ring PRO has the longest battery life with up to 15 days in Chill Mode and about 12 in Turbo Mode.
- Longest time away from a plug: RingConn Gen 2 and Gen 3 offer 150 days away from the charger via a charging case.
- Oura Ring 5 is 6-9 days
- Samsung Galaxy Ring is up to 7 days depending on size.

Ultrahuman Ring PRO
Rated at up to 15 days in Chill Mode, which focuses tracking on sleep and rest, and about 12 days in Turbo Mode, which runs every sensor all day. Engadget wore it for 10 days straight in Turbo Mode and finished with 9% left. The PRO Charger case brings the total to 45 days and stores a year of ring data, and it can find your ring if you lose it. There is no subscription. Read the full guide to Ring PRO battery life .
RingConn Gen 3
Rated at up to 14 days, or 11 to 14 days depending on whether vibration alerts are on. The Gadgeteer had 34% left after a week with three vibration alerts, which puts it on course for about 10 days. The included case is rated at over 150 days, which is the longest of any ring here.
RingConn Gen 2
Rated at 10 to 12 days, with a case rated at up to 150 days. At $299, it is the cheapest ring on this list with more than 10 days of rated battery.
Oura Ring 5
Rated at 6 to 9 days, an improvement on the Oura Ring 4’s 5 to 8 days. It charges fast, in 20 to 80 minutes, and 10 minutes in the optional case gives about a day. Oura charges a membership of $5.99 a month.
Samsung Galaxy Ring
Rated at up to 6 days for most sizes and 7 days for the largest, because larger rings fit a larger battery. The case recharges the ring about 1.6 times. Samsung says sleep tracking, automatic workout detection and gesture controls use the most power.
How to choose a ring for battery life
If you want to charge as rarely as possible, choose Ring PRO for the longest stretch on your finger, or a RingConn if you want a case that lasts months.
If you travel often, the case matters as much as the ring. Ring PRO’s case gives up to 45 days and RingConn’s gives 150 or more.
If you want every sensor running, compare Turbo-style figures, not headline ones. Ring PRO is rated at about 12 days with all sensors on.
