Pulsomics
A foundational model of the human pulse
Every system in the body leaves its trace on the pulse. We're building the model that reads them all.
The pulse doesn't explain itself. People do.
Every recording in Pulsomics is paired with real human context: a blood panel, a fitness test, how rested someone actually felt. That's what the model learns from, and that's what gives the signal its meaning.
Pulse - Omics
One pulse, mapped to your biology.
A handful of signals your ring already records, and the systems all through the body they turn out to trace back to. Pulsomics is how we learn which ones, and how far that reading can go.
Open research
What we're studying
Each study pairs the pulse data from your ring to context from your lifestyle and wellness.
Sleep Sufficiency
Learns how rested you actually feel on waking, and which signals from your ring predict it.
VO₂ Max
Identifies which signals in your ring data shape VO₂ max, so fitness can be estimated without a treadmill test.
Glucose Metabolism
Works towards predicting metabolic risk from your ring data and the health history you share.
Cardiovascular Load
Looks for signatures in ring data that correspond to blood pressure profiles across a night.
Sleep Journal
Tracks which everyday lifestyle factors shift your sleep, followed over months rather than a handful of nights.
How it works
Participants join a study, share the health context that gives their data meaning, and wear the ring as they normally would.

Answer a few questions
Share the context that gives your data meaning: age, height, weight, ethnicity and health history.

Wear your ring to sleep
The ring records short windows of raw pulse overnight. Nothing changes about how you wear it.

Upload your lab tests
Have a recent blood panel or fitness report? Add it. Pairing signal with a reference is what trains the model.
The science of representation
Why it matters
That data has mostly come from small groups, measured under supervision for an hour at a time. Pulsomics is built the other way round.
Built across the whole range
Predictive models are usually built on narrow cohorts. Data from across the whole spectrum makes them work for everyone.
Signal paired with context
The ring records the pulse. You provide the context. That pairing is what teaches a model to read you from the ring alone.
Fairness is a stated objective
Pulse sensing behaves differently with skin tone, body composition and ring fit. Pulsomics collects age, height, weight and ethnicity, and builds them in.
Thousands of ordinary nights
Real nights, at home, at scale, from people a clinic would never see. Not one supervised hour from those who can reach a lab.
Your data stays yours
Data is de-identified before use, never sold, never shared with advertisers, employers or insurers. Anything published is aggregated across many users.
Enhance your research
to a whole new level
Universities, hospitals and research groups can work with us on study design, cohort access and co-authored publications.
Pulsomics is an opt-in wellness research programme. It is not a medical test and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. Registered with the Clinical Trials Registry – India: CTRI/2026/08/115584. Ethics approval: Medstar Speciality Hospital Ethics Committee, ECR/1324/Inst/KA/2019/RR-24. Available to ring users aged 18 and above on Ring AIR and Ring PRO.
Still got questions?
| Who can take part in Pulsomics? | Anyone aged 18 or over actively using an Ultrahuman Ring AIR or Ring PRO. |
| Does a study ask for more than wearing the ring? |
Most ask a set of questions covering sleep, activity, medical history and lifestyle. Some also want a health report you already hold, such as a blood test, which you can upload or type in. Every study page sets out what it asks before you join. |
| What if my ring misses some nights? | That is expected. You are not scored on it, and a quiet night takes nothing away from what you have already contributed. |
| Will it affect my ring's battery or my usual metrics? | No. The extra capture is brief and light, and everything you normally see from your ring keeps working as it did. |
| Do I get a personal result or a diagnosis? | No. Pulsomics is wellness research, not a medical test, and nothing you record triggers an alert. You do see your own contribution and how the research is progressing. |
| What happens to my data, if I leave after joining | Data is de-identified, never sold, and never shared with advertisers, employers or insurers. You can pause or withdraw at any point and delete what you have contributed. |
| Who oversees Pulsomics? | Pulsomics studies are registered with the Clinical Trials Registry – India (CTRI), CTRI/2026/08/115584, a Primary Registry within the World Health Organization International Clinical Trials Registry Platform network. It holds ethics committee approval from Medstar Speciality Hospital Ethics Committee (ECR/1324/Inst/KA/2019/RR-24). |
