Glucose never sits still. Every meal sends it up, every recovery brings it back down, and it is the shape of that rise and fall across a whole day, not the height of any one reading, that describes how well the body is handling fuel. Two people can eat the same plate of food and produce completely different curves, and neither would know it. A fasting number catches one quiet moment of a day that is never quiet, which is why most of glucose control stays invisible without continuous measurement.

The Metabolic Score is the single daily number the Ultrahuman M1 CGM builds from that whole picture: the peaks, the time spent inside a healthy range, and the average underneath. In a research study, 105 adults were sorted by blood work into 53 with normal glucose control and 52 with early glucose dysregulation, then followed for 14 days. The first group averaged about 79, the second about 74, and the two group averages stayed apart on every one of the 14 days.

Against the blood work a clinic would order, the score tracks four separate markers, most strongly insulin resistance at 0.43 — a higher score going with lower resistance — about as tight as the relationship between height and weight. It is built from 14 days of glucose rather than one morning reading, which is what lets it stand in for markers that themselves describe weeks or months — a span no single fasting value can cover.
